Dynamic Sensor Placement Using Controlled Active Vision
نویسندگان
چکیده
The working region of a camera providing visual feedback to guide manipulation tasks can be greatly extended if the camera can move in real-time. Proper camera motion depends on several different criteria, such as object motion, maximum manipulator tracking speed, manipulator configuration, camera depth-of-field, field-of-view, spatial resolution, occlusion avoidance, etc. In this paper, the controlled active vision framework is extended to include dynamically determined sensor placement criteria. The criteria considered include focus, spatial resolution, and manipulator configuration, as well as object motion. Experimental results are presented.

Active sensor placement for complete scene reconstruction and exploration
This paper deals with the 3D structure estimation and exploration of a scene using active vision. We have used the structure from controlled motion approach to obtain a precise and robust estimation of the 3D structure of geometrical primitives. Since it involves to gaze successively on the considered primitives, we have developed perceptual strategies able to perform a succession of robust est...

A silicon retina is a VLSI (very large scale integration) chip that has been designed based on the neural architecture and functionality of a biological retina. Such devices are expected to be useful as a novel vision sensors for autonomous mobile robots due to their power efficiency, compactness, and real-time processing ability. In addition, their low noise output and wide operating range are...
متن کاملDynamic integration of visual cues for position estimation
Three-dimensional (3D)position estimation using a single passive sensor, particularly vision, has frequently suffered from unreliability and has involved complex processing methods. Past research has combined vision with other active sensors in which the emphasis has been on data fusion. This paper attempts to integrate multiple passive 3D cues camera focus, camera vergence and stereo disparity...
